If you see yourself as clay and you’re really gold, no amount of kneading will do anything. If you see yourself as gold and you are wood, fire will consume you when you are near fire. If you are not honest with what you are no amount of work will fix a wrong technique of changing or reinventing.

After you stop running from your nature - I love this! I think life is a gift and a privilege and the only offering worth giving is all of yourself. There are so many “self-improvement” guides and programs out there that encourage people to just let go/ get rid of the undesirable parts of themselves. Just ignore… or “fake it till you make it.” In the end, it’s like cutting off a limb in the hopes that amputation will somehow make them whole. I think every part of us can serve a purpose, once acknowledged and worked with/healed.

Feeling really called out right now. But I know that means I should try it your way and confront all the ugly flaws I know well but have never seriously tried to change.

It's the 28th day of my cycle and I belong in the period shed. My brain is on fire with disappointments, rage, sadness, and chaos all mixed into one awful cocktail. Every month it's the same, but then Med Gold puts up a post about taking stock of your nature and the light comes on. There's no better time to take a brutally honest inventory of my flaws than on the night before the red tide. I already wrote down a bunch so thank you. From a female reader, it's always a delight.

In times of utmost avoidance and stagnation, my mind poisons me with images of my better self. I could spend hours imagining me with the most chiseled physique, in athletic prime, always when in reality I end up overeating. Reveries of me bagging the girl I like when I’m rotting away in my apartment. My nature reveals itself whenever I make the same mistakes over and over

Thank you for the wake-up call. 🫡
