Jordan,
Like many others, I found out about you from your first appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. You stood out. You were a loud and necessary voice during a very chaotic time. The Tranny Movement, the Fat Positivity Movement, and #MeToo were at their peak. You perfectly articulated very real threats in Western culture that were on the rise. And to your credit, you played a significant role in their demise.
After listening to this episode, I got immersed in your perspective. I read 12 Rules for Life, which had a meaningful impact on me at the time. Like many others, it stated truths I already knew in my bones but didn’t yet mentally articulate.
I also loved your Biblical lectures. As someone who learned about Christianity somewhat blindly as a child, your perspective on the Old Testament from the perspective of a clinical psychologist was crystalizing.
I even saw one of your lectures in person. No, I wasn’t one of your fans who showed up in a suit, I found that quite cringe — but I enjoyed your work enough to see you “think out loud" in front of an audience. It was worth the money.
I remember where I was when you were released from rehab for your benzodiazepine addiction. I was on vacation in Europe and remember asking myself why I was watching a YouTube interview in my hotel room instead of exploring the streets of the country I was in. I realized I was genuinely concerned for your health and therefore a true fan. I was happy to see you were recovering.
Since then, Jordan, I’m going to be honest — not only are you less intellectually and culturally useful, but you’ve betrayed me. You don’t know who I am and you never will. In fact, you don’t know most of the men that you consistently attack. But you’ve betrayed millions of your former fans.
This letter is written on their behalf.
I created a Twitter account in early 2020, right as the COVID pandemic was starting to take shape. At the time, venting on Twitter through posting was a necessary release valve while being locked indoors against my will over a cold. I had a place to speak the truth about the insanity we were living through. I even made “friends” with people who felt the same way. At the time, this little world kept my sanity intact.
As I’m sure you remember, that was a very dangerous time for freedom of speech. You could also have your account banned, completely arbitrarily, with no reason given. If you spoke out against wearing a mask, taking experimental vaccines, or the ethics of burning down cities in the name of a dead fentanyl addict — not only could you lose your livelihood, but your reputation and life was at risk. Antifa was in control as the unofficial paramilitary of the DNC. They very well could have doxxed you and come after you violently, with impunity.
At the time, speaking the truth anonymously wasn’t a matter of choice. For someone with responsibilities, an interest in their livelihood, and a deep desire to speak the truth — this was the only option.
The insanity of 2020 has mostly died down. The insanity hasn’t gone away, but it’s heading in the right direction. During that time, I amassed a solid following for myself. I don’t have nearly the amount of followers you do, but 50K+ Twitter followers isn’t bad.
Some argue that given the truth is more welcome now, there’s less of a need to post anonymously. I vehemently disagree. Allow me to explain why.
Peter Thiel is one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world. For the most part, he speaks the truth. He’s one of the very few men in his position willing to do so.
In the below clip he discusses the context for America’s decline as innovators. He compares “cultural” Marxism (belief-focused) to “classic” Marxism (class-focused). He talks about how Americans went from focusing outward (space exploration) to focusing inward (identity-searching). It’s a true and interesting point.
Peter Thiel cannot, however, “go all the way.”
There’s a much simpler truth that explains America’s decline: the signing of the Civil Rights Act. This is when America’s most Sacred Laws were chiseled into unspoken stone tablets. The highest sacred law of America is: ‘Thou Shall Not Say Anything Negative About Black People.’ You can disagree with my position if you want, but you aren’t American. You’re Canadian. It’s my word against yours.
Peter Thiel speaks the truth more than average for men in his position, but he can’t say something like that in public. He technically can, but that would be stupid. It wouldn’t ruin his life, but it would tarnish his name even further. It’s all the media would talk about for weeks. They would make it about Trump.
At the minimum, it would be a huge headache. At the maximum, it would disrupt his investments and business relationships. And it wouldn’t change much. I wouldn’t cross that line either if I were him. The cons outweigh the pros. Peter Thiel isn’t stupid.
What if he believed the truth should be heard and not hidden? What if he didn’t want or need the credit for stating it? What if he decided to say it anonymously?
According to you, Jordan Peterson, that would make Peter Thiel a “Machiavellian, narcissistic, and demonic coward. ” You would even demand that he say this under his real name so he could be, in your words — “held accountable.”
What’s more important? Making sure anyone who speaks the truth is held to account by the arbitrary cultural values of their time, or more people hearing the truth than less?
Your words have held the most weight in losing environments. While “the right”, or in my opinion, anyone with common sense, was under the thumb of extremely powerful institutions who were out for blood — your willingness to speak the truth was much needed.
But now? I’m going to be honest Jordan — I’m not sure exactly what it is you talk about these days. I get recommendations for your YouTube channel. I see the guests you have on. I rarely watch them because what you say is mostly predicable at this point. You shifted your focus from psychology to politics. This isn’t what you excel at most, but that’s your choice to make.
I can’t help but notice, however, that you now spend a lot of time talking about a moronic concept called the “woke right”, and the evils of anonymous posters.
Not only is this embarrassing — it’s beneath you.
You went from speaking truth to power to speaking “truth to anons.” The problems you focus on exist solely online, not issues that people in the real world care about. Jordan Peterson went from being one of the fiercest advocates of free speech to an increasingly irrelevant YouTube influencer who tries his hardest to police it. It’s very sad to see. And even worse, you’re trying to police people who once had your back.
You’ve betrayed many of your former fans by blanket-diagnosing us as “psychopaths”, while simultaneously advocating for us to be banned from internet, simply for choosing to speak the truth anonymously rather than under our real names.
This obsession you have has caused irreversible damage to your reputation with many men who speak the truth more intensely because you encouraged them to.
I’m going to level with you, Jordan. I don’t receive nearly as much hate as you do but I receive quite a lot of it. I closed my DMs years ago. When I had them open, I’d receive multiple death threats on a weekly basis. I trigger a lot of very unwell, and frankly, pathetic people. To this day, there’s men who obsess over my identity and my personal life, even while I’m deactivated. They live very sad lives.
Indeed, there’s a lot of psychopaths online. It often feels like an insane asylum. I can understand why these people get under your skin — but you’re going about this all wrong. Here’s a few suggestions:
Your words would hold more weight if you’d simply outpost them.
If someone says something that’s incorrect, prove them wrong.
If someone is being ridiculous, mock them.
If someone is harassing you, block them.
If someone has bad vibes, mute them.
If you think the X timeline is terrible, which it mostly is, then create Lists of your favorite accounts and only follow those.
These are the basics of keeping your sanity online.
You can’t let these people get to you, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
I’m attacked by retarded obsessives every day online. But I don’t get myself into a tizzy because they’re anonymous — I accept who they are.
If anything, it’s better that they’re anonymous because now they can reveal who they really are. And I’m not talking about their social security numbers. I’m talking about what they’re made of.
If they were forced to post under their real names, they would be forced to hide this ugly part of themselves. And you might argue that’s better for society — but as a clinical psychologist, aren’t you interested in the depths of human nature? Isn’t the spectrum of human insanity interesting, even just to merely observe? Wouldn’t you rather people get it all out in the open rather than suppress it?
I don’t need a Ph.D in Psychology to understand their psychosis would only be redirected elsewhere. So isn’t it better they use the internet for their deranged thoughts, which has little to no impact on anyone, other that bruised egos and hurt feelings, rather than express that energy in the real world? The answer is Yes.
Let me ask you this, Jordan Peterson. What’s more important?
The truth has been spoken.
The truth has been spoken and you know the speaker’s full name.
Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison and John Adams would say #1 is most important.
How do I know this? Because they also wrote anonymously.
Alexander Hamilton was an anon who went by ‘Publicus’. He even had two accounts. He also went by ‘Pacificus’. James Madison’s handle was ‘Helvidius’. Benjamin Franklin’s @ would have be ‘SilenceDogood’ if he were around to post on X. These are real anonymous names they used in The Federalist Papers to post anonymously. They’ve even stated they did this for the same reason I do — not just to shield themselves from unwarranted and arbitrary personal repercussions, but to ensure their focus is on the arguments rather than their identities.
When people can associate an idea with a person, the idea becomes distorted. Ideas should be observed and critiqued as they exist in themselves. If you’re actually an intellectual, then you know that whoever uttered an idea is mostly irrelevant to the potency of the idea.
This is one of the many reasons why the Founding Fathers were brilliant. If it weren’t for them, then America wouldn’t have freedom of speech. A right that your country, Canada, will never have. I strongly suggest you consider this.
If you disagree with me, then ask yourself why Peter Thiel never says a word about any of America’s sacred racial groups. Either you believe he doesn’t hold a single negative thought about them, or he hides it due to unwarranted and arbitrary personal repercussions. You aren’t stupid, Jordan.
This isn’t about saying naughty things online. I have the freedom to speak the truth as cold, raw, and accurately as possible, without consequences. This freedom is sacred to me. This is why I post anonymously.
You’re better than this.
Sincerely,
A Former Fan.
To be honest, Jordan has always being low key psychopathic. He said deep thoughts because the bar was low. Men can be women type of low. Now the bar is high he can’t compete in that field anymore. People that go into psychology are often the most broken People. He is broken. He is leading a crusade to ban and shame anyone who dare speaks against the state of Israel or any negative about someone that is Jew. I don’t even care about them, and I’m lowkey more on their side . But people, have the damn right to say something negative ! This tells me he never was pro free speech. He can’t handle someone disagreeing with him and it’s pathetic
"Antifa was in control as the unofficial paramilitary of the DNC."
Never thought of it that way. Well said.
And great point about our anon Founding Fathers.
